Worship
Worship begins at 10:00am year-round. The service typically includes scripture, the preaching of the Word of God, prayers, hymns, and music provided regularly by our Sanctuary Choir and periodically by our children's choir, handbell choir, or other forms of special music. The service, which is designed to be about an hour in length, is followed by a fellowship time and by educational opportunities for all ages.
We offer a meditative prayer service at 12:00 noon every Wednesday in a 20-minute service that includes scripture, prayers, quiet time for meditation, contemplative music, and a contemporary version of the Lord’s Prayer. The service is held in the downstairs chapel and is followed by a light lunch.
We observe the following days and seasons throughout the year:
- Advent, a season to recollect the hope of the coming of Christ, and to look forward to the Lord’s coming again;
- Christmas, a celebration of the birth of Christ, with two services on Christmas Eve;
- Epiphany, a day for commemorating God’s self-manifestation to all people;
- Lent, a season of spiritual discipline and preparation, beginning with Ash Wednesday, anticipating the celebration of the death and resurrection of Christ;
- Holy Week, a time of remembrance and proclamation of the atoning suffering and death of Jesus Christ;
- Easter, the day of the Lord’s resurrection and the season of rejoicing which commemorates his ministry until his Ascension; and
- The Day of Pentecost, the celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church.
We also observe Baptism of the Lord, All Saints Day, and other special days throughout the church year.
On the Sunday closest to July 4 we engage in ecumenical worship with Mason First United Methodist Church and All Saints Lutheran Church.
The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are celebrated regularly throughout the year. The Lord's Supper is open to all who profess faith in Christ.
All people are welcome at any of our worship services.
