Christmas Eve

at Mason First Presbyterian Church

We offer two worship services on Christmas Eve:

5:00 p.m. Children's Service

A family-friendly service featuring youth instrumental and vocal soloists, traditional Christmas carols, and a re-telling of the Christmas story, in which all children who are present are invited to participate in placing figurines in the crèche. The service is approximately 45 minutes long. Following the service, everybody is invited downstairs to the dining room for a celebration of Jesus’ birthday.

7:30 p.m. Festival of Lessons and Carols

A formal service featuring our extremely talented Sanctuary Choir, scripture lessons spanning both Testaments, traditional Christmas carols, and candlelight. The service is adapted from the traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols service that is held annually at King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England. It is preceded by 30 minutes of musical preludes, beginning at 7:00. The service is approximately an hour and fifteen minutes long. Arrive early to get a good seat. Following the service, meet and greet friends, family, and new acquaintances.
