Inclement Weather

at Mason First Presbyterian Church

In the Event of Inclement Weather:

Will worship services be canceled?

Personal safety and your judgment are the key words.  Since Pastor Bill lives within walking distance, he will be here unless his front door is blocked by several feet of snow or water.  Please do not try to attend if it is not safe to travel or if law enforcement officials are advising people to stay off the roads.  Alternatives for worship include personal meditation on the lectionary texts for the day (printed each month in the Cornerstone), personal or family devotion using These Days or The Upper Room devotional magazines, and the Wednesday noon-time prayer service.  Remember, we want everyone to use caution and to be safe.

Will the Wednesday afternoon activities for children and youth be canceled?

Wednesday afternoon activities for children and youth will be canceled if Mason Public Schools close schools due to weather. You may check to see whether Mason Public Schools have closed schools by going to their website or by listening to local radio or television stations.

Will the Wednesday night dinner be canceled?

The decision to cancel Wednesday Night Dinner rests with Gladys Welker and Mary Lou French.  They will notify the office if dinner is canceled.  If in doubt, please call the office.  Please do not make assumptions about whether or not dinner will be canceled without checking directly with Gladys, Mary Lou, or the church office.

What about choir rehearsals, committee meetings, small groups, etc.?
Please check with the appropriate choir director, committee chair, or small group leader.
