Presby-what?
Presbyterians are Christians who organize their life together under the concept of democratic rule under the Word of God. Congregations are governed by Elders who are elected from and by the congregation. The word "Presbyterian" comes from the Greek word presbuteros, which simply means "Elder." The governing body of elected Elders for a local congregation is called the Session. Elders are typically elected for three-year terms.
The faith of Presbyterians is the faith common to all Christians. Membership in the Presbyterian Church requires a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
